50 Ways to Remain in Denial... or 50 Ways to Laugh your ass off?
Yes, I am broke beyond all means, but I can sit in a bookstore and freely read what comes out, and I have just done so with Jensen's "As the World Burns", in one single sitting. Of course that's easy, for it is a graphic novel.
It's well told, delivers comedy very well (had me snickering so many times, but then Derrick's awesome at that), and practically says it all. In one of my videos on my own site, I give the scenario of aliens coming to the planet to enslave us and sell us as food, and how much we'd be offended by the pricing of "human life" when we don't see the same offense at doing it to all the rest of the living world. So when I see him bringing aliens down in the comic world he's created, I laughed my head off. After all, great minds think alike, and if I think like his, I'm in good shape indeed.
I am buying the damned thing first chance I get, but moreso, I believe it belongs animated and shown in every classroom. He's right... forget lists of 10, 20, 50, 101 easy things you can do to save the earth! Those lists are benign and useless. Only thing that'll save us is what they, the ones killing everything, fear most: the wild. Wild hearts, wild animals, wild life, wild minds, wild thoughts, wild wild wild!
Go wild, baby... go wild!
